Lean Times Means Sale Time

It has been a lean, mean few months in retail town. Big businesses are failing, retail spending is down here and overseas, the Australian Dollar is way down.

All this means we need to be more savvy with our hard earned cash, and the best way to do that is to maximise the sales being given by stores.

I'm going to start with a biggy - 75% off all stock at Hard Candy.

I don't think I have EVER seen a brand reduce all of their stock so dramatically unless they are going out of business. I hope this isn't the case here, as I have had a love of their products way back when they first released nail polish with chunky rings around the lid.

My picks have got to be the palettes, they are compact and gorgeous and unbelievably good value, even with our appalling AU$.

Secret Stash Makeup Kit (US$5.50) contains: Sheer Lip Glosses in baby pink, medium pink, nude w/ silver shimmer, bright pink w/ iridescent glitter. Eye Shadows in copper, shimmering apricot, bronze, and pale green w/ glitter. Bronzer and Mattifier.

Eye Candy Eye Palette (US$5.50) contains Eye Shadows in Dillusional, Star, Techno, Snow Cone, Disco 2000, Suede, Caramel, Butterscotch, Pixie.

And of course, the Nail Polish (US$1.75) but only in limited colours.

Stay tuned for more sales, there are new ones popping up every day!

What a Dame

Hello, Possums!

Like the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Great Barrier Reef (which I just came back from and insist you MUST visit), there is another huge icon that is well known around the world. Dame Edna Everage with her lilac hair and bat wing glasses. She and her alter-ego Barry Humphries have been a classic on Australian television since the very first day of television in 1956.

The best part - she is now going to be a MAC colour collection, all to her raving mad self. Dame Edna for MAC has got to be one of the coolest looking collections I have seen ever. It is the first one where I think I may have to purchase 2 of some products purely because I want to keep one set in pristine condition. I always found it a little sad when I heard other people do it, but the lilac packaging with the sparkly red glasses has won my heart.

3 very possibly hilarious interviews with the Queen of satire will be available closer to launch date.

Launching in January (or December if you can grab some from the states) with 3 lipsticks, 3 lip glasses, 2 eye shadow trios, 2 nail polishes and a Hi-Light Powder.

Love Angel Music, Baby

There is nothing worse than finding something that you must.have.immediately and then finding out that it isn't available for another 6 months. This is one of those things. I have been waiting for months for these to come out. Harajuku Lovers fragrances in Love, Lil Angel, Music, Baby & G. Collect the whole set, and make sure you keep them away from any little girls - these are big girls scents!

G (Gwen) - a food lover's fragrance with mandarin, coconut, apple, freesia and sandalwood.

Love - a floral with notes of bergamot, pomelo, peach, rose, jasmine, orchid and musk.

Lil Angel - a fruity floral with with notes of different berries (raspberry, cranberry, blackberry), pineapple, rose and amber.

Music - a floral with notes of clementine, pear, jasmine, sweet pea, honeysuckle, vanilla and musk.

Baby - a powder musk with freesia, bergamot, rose, jasmine, musk, heliotrope, vanilla and violet.

Frankly, I dont care what they smell like, I just love the bottles!

I found the solid perfum set on the Sephora website - I wonder if they will be available here?
Available at Myer.
